Most men do not like to eat anything green. I make the best green smoothies in the world, and they taste like a dessert, but my husband, also known as Dr. Cubes, will not touch it because it is green. Throw kale into the mix, and it is a wrap. He calls kale “hipster food”, and thinks it’s way too trendy for being a vegetable. He says that it doesn’t live up to the hype, because it is dry and tasteless. One day, I tricked him into eating kale, and it was so good, that he didn’t even realize that he was eating kale. When he found out, it was too late for him to have any negative thoughts, and now he is constantly asking me to make kale for him. I am going to share this recipe with you, so that you too can trick your husband or boyfriend into eating kale too!
1 bunch of kale
2 cloves of garlic
¼ cup of grated parmesan cheese
Prepare the ingredients:
Peel and mince the garlic. Wash the kale, then remove and discard the kale stems; finely chop the leaves
Cook the kale:
Add 2 teaspoons of olive oil to a large pan; heat on medium-high until hot. Add the garlic; season with pepper and a pinch of salt. Cook stirring frequently for about 1 minute. Next, add the kale and ¼ cup of water and season with salt and pepper. As you are cooking be sure to stir occasionally, for about 4-5 minutes. You should see that the kale is wilting, and the liquid has evaporated. Then, remove from the heat, and stir in the cheese, and season with a pinch of salt, and pepper.
Trust me, he will LOVE it! YOU’RE WELCOME!! He will never say never to kale!
